Claudette Sutherland

Claudette Sutherland (born 13 July 1939; age 81) is an actress from Portland, Oregon who portrayed Maya in the Star Trek: Enterprise first season episode "Oasis". Her prior television credits include a regular role on the short-lived drama HeartBeat in 1988, co-starring with Kate Mulgrew, Julie Cobb, Gail Strickland, and Hallie Todd, and recurring roles on Herman's Head (starring Molly Hagan, including an episode with Leland Orser), NYPD Blue (with series regulars Gordon Clapp and Sharon Lawrence, as well as Daniel Benzali and Basil Wallace), and Suddenly Susan (including an episode with Bill Erwin).

Sutherland played Smitty in the original Broadway production of How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying from 1961 through 1965. In 1977, she performed with Laurence Luckinbill in the original Broadway play The Shadow Box. In addition, Sutherland has two feature films to her credit, beginning with a supporting role in 1979's A Little Romance, starring Sally Kellerman. This was followed over fifteen years later with a lead role in the 1995 "mockumentary", Man of the Year. Between these films, she was seen in the made-for-TV movies Stop at Nothing (1991), Living a Lie (1991, with David Andrews and directed by Larry Shaw), Cruel Doubt (1992, with Miguel Ferrer, Stefan Gierasch, and Neal McDonough), Betrayed by Love (1994, with Randy Oglesby and Steven Weber), and the Hallmark Hall of Fame production of A Place for Annie (1994).

Her most recent acting credit is a guest role in a 2004 episode of Crossing Jordan entitled "Slam Dunk". Besides series regular Miguel Ferrer, this episode also featured Star Trek veterans Alan Dale, Susan Gibney, Lawrence Pressman, and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine's Armin Shimerman.
